Scientists are used to searching for information on their own subject. However, when it comes to finding relevant information on 3R methods, this might be a bigger challenge as there is a lot of information available.

It is very important to develop a well-defined search strategy before you start in order not to miss any information. Therefore, the European Union Reference Laboratory for alternatives to animal testing (EURL ECVAM) has developed a Search Guide that describes principles, procedures and searches terms in order to facilitate this. The Search Guide consists of a 7-step plan on how a systematic and structured search can be performed.
