The 3Rs Symposium Returns! 

This year's symposium will focus on reduction, refinement, and replacement methods to improve laboratory animal welfare while maintaining or improving scientific results. Sessions will discuss opportunities to do more with less, refinement techniques in research that involve pain and distress, and how to use the 3Rs to improve efficiency and rigor.

This year's congress will focus on “Toxicology addresses Society’s real-life risks for sustainable health and well-being”. The programme will focus on emerging technologies and methodologies in toxicology will be highlighted, while fostering discussions on public health safety and environmental sustainability. Opportunities for young scientists to showcase their work will be provided through oral and poster presentations.

EUROoCS is hosting the third EUROoCS Summer School together with the 3R-Center Tübingen. The training course features both lectures and laboratory hands-on sessions. Participants will explore the fundamental concepts and principles of Organ-on-Chip technology in an interdisciplinary setting. The Summer School is designed for M.Sc., MD, and PhD students who are beginning their research in this exciting field, as well as professionals from academia or industry seeking to gain foundational knowledge and practical lab experience.

The fourth annual Galleria mellonella workshop will include networking and discussion of methods, models and husbandry techniques. 

Attendees are invited to present their Galleria mellonella research and related research techniques. There will also be a poster session to broaden knowledge sharing in the field, this will include a poster prize award. 

The ASPIS Open Symposium (OS) is an annual meeting of the members of the ASPIS cluster and the wider scientific community, focusing on advancing the safety assessment of chemicals without the use of animal testing. The symposium will present the latest work of the ASPIS cluster formed by the three Horizon 2020 consortia: ONTOX, PrecisionTox, and RISK-HUNT3R, focusing on the implementation of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) for chemical risk assessment.

The conference will focus on the latest advances in 3Rs research and aims at inspiring new ideas to move towards the future of biotech and biomedical sciences; promoting networking and collaboration among different research fields, contributing to the growth of 3Rs in basic, applied and translation science; emphasizing the great opportunity offered by application of the 3Rs to different fields of research.

Abstract may be submitted for Poster Presentation, Oral Presentations, or Either before 30/04/2025.

Hear from expert speakers, including CAAT's own Thomas Hartung and Kathrin Herrmann, who are globally recognized in the fields of alternative testing, immunotoxicology, and biomedical ethics. 

ERA21 offers travel awards to support researchers using human-based non animal methods.
